Shear Haven is an initiative of the YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee, co-founded by Nashville-based salon owner, stylist, and survivor Susanne Shepherd Post. Susanne is committed to educating the beauty industry on the signs of abuse and how to respond appropriately. While the training is geared toward beauty industry professionals, this free online course can teach anyone about the signs of abuse and how to help. The Shear Haven training consists of a free 20-minute training video followed by a short three question quiz. After completion, you will receive a personalized certificate of achievement. Registration to the Shear Haven site is required.
