Two-Part Series: Campus Sexual Misconduct
Session One: This session provides an overview of the various ways in which problematic sexual behavior presents on campus and a description of what is known about individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior and the interventions most likely to reduce the likelihood of re-offense. Together participants will develop a shared understanding regarding the breadth of problematic sexual behavior occurring on campus, review relevant research regarding what is known about individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior, and discuss information about the risk-needs-responsivity model and methods to assess and address problematic sexual behavior among students.
Session Two: The Science-based Treatment, Accountability, and Risk Reduction for Sexual Assault (STARRSA) Programs were created for institutional use and are most effectively implemented when understood and supported by all staff members and/or campus partners responsible for addressing sexual or gender-based misconduct on campus. This session provides an overview of the STARRSA programs and products, including the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Program, the Active Psychoeducation (AP) Program, and the Contributing Factors Checklist, as well as information about the development process, implementation options, and experience from pilot sites.
