Policies and Practices for Reducing Intimate Partner Violence Firearm Homicide Panel Discussion

last update on: 09/12/2025

Over half of intimate partner homicides perpetrated in the U.S. each year are committed with a firearm. These murders impact big cities, small towns, and Tribes, creating traumatic ripple effects through families and communities.

This discussion features panelists from across the country with rich expertise in identifying, addressing, and reducing intimate partner firearm homicides in communities disproportionately impacted. Intended for a multidisciplinary audience, the panelists will share strategies and considerations for developing and improving local policies and practices to reduce deaths in their communities.

Panelists from: BWJP, API-GBV, Ujima, Esperanza United, and NIWRC

Presented by the NRCDVF, originally recorded in August 2025.
