In this web conference, we’ll hear from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) leaders who are facilitating truth-telling, healing, and transformation at the intersection of racial and gender justice. They will discuss the importance of addressing the historic and present-day legacies of colonization, genocide, slavery, and other forms of structural racism for a safety and equity now and into the future.

Guests will share outcomes of the recent effectiveness study on Manhood 2.0, the importance of connecting gender and racial justice to violence prevention, and ideas for embedding sexual violence prevention messaging in other youth-supportive programming.

Join presenter Lisa Fujie Parks from the Prevention Institute to learn about a framework for community safety that addresses the structural roots of violence and discuss concrete ways to take action on violence prevention strategies rooted in justice and equity.

This session explores public narrative, storytelling, and community organizing as critical tools to disrupt the status quo that upholds sexual violence and other forms of oppression and harm. Participants will learn how to use these tools to promote healing, justice, and equity.

This workshop will highlight how one organization made changes to internal policies and practices to better reflect the world we are trying to create.

We know that violence and oppression are connected, but sometimes we struggle knowing how to do social justice work in the context of sexual violence prevention. Through examples, this workshop will illustrate what it looks like to connect sexual violence prevention to social justice in practice, both internally and externally.
