As advocates, we're often asked, "why haven't I heard anything about my grievance?" or "can you help me file a lawsuit?" While we may not be able to directly help incarcerated survivors file grievances or lawsuits, there are ways we can support them and help them advocate for themselves. 

At this Office Hours, advocates will hear from panelists with first-hand experience navigating the carceral system's complicated processes. More specifically, we will hear from a survivor who was victorious in numerous pro se prisoners' rights actions while incarcerated in New York. We will also share a helpful document put together by the Prison Law Office.
